a little about Canvas

Canvas Design Company started as a clothing brand in 2012 with one dream in mind. Making art my job. I’ve been obsessed with art for as long as I can remember.

I have memories of being 4 or 5 years old, going around the neighborhood selling my cardboard drawings for 50 cents each, and returning home with $10 in my pocket. Imagine That.

I was that kid who loved to sketch superheroes at school and get my notebooks taken away. So much so that my friends started having me design shirts for their bands, or literally have me use Sharpies to draw on their Skateboards. My passion for skateboarding and music is a reflection of my art style.

My dad was a professional sign painter, and Growing up becoming a professional artist seemed like my destined path. He always thought I would follow in his footsteps, but he never pushed it on me. Instead, he suggested that I learn about Graphic Design. I was 15 so I said “no way” and wanted to become a Tattoo Artist. However, 10 years down the line, I find myself fully immersed in the world of Graphic arts.

My introduction to graphic design began with a brand. I drew a barn owl, put it on a t-shirt, and named it Canvas Wear. Interestingly, that owl became my first-ever Logo, and the name Canvas stuck with me. From that point on, I became obsessed with refining my design skills and Gradually taking on small projects for people. Small Businesses, Bands, Other Clothing Brands, anything I could get my hands on. Literally.

In 2019 I went full time with Canvas Design Company and I’ve never looked back.

My dad was my inspiration. he passed away on March 3rd, 2018. He was my biggest fan and Supporter.

Canvas Design Company is dedicated to him.
